Kirby's Adventure is a 1993 action-platform video game developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Entertainment System video game console. It is the only NES game in the Kirby series, and the second after his debut on the Game Boy in Kirby's Dream Land.

The game saw a remake in 2002 on the Game Boy Advance, called Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland.

Plot

King Dedede steals the Star Rod, takes it apart, and gives the pieces to his minions. Kirby must travel through Dream Land to retrieve the pieces and fix the Star Rod.

Why It Rocks

1. This game introduces Kirby's main ability to copy his foes power, and discard it later. This trait of his has been used in every main Kirby game since.
2. You can make Kirby fly with little restriction, allowing you to chose how difficult you want the game to be.
3. Beautiful, stylized graphics which will easily fit in any time period.
4. Great music.
5. Lots of levels.
6. There are lots of areas that you can get extra lives in.
7. The remake Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland improves over the original in a few ways, such as more songs, improved sprites, new minigames, and better controls.
8. Decent story with a good plot twist.
9. Unlike the last game (which made sense because it was on the Game Boy, but it wasn't even on the box art), Kirby is now pink, his trademark color.

Bad Qualities

1. Unfortunately for this game, Kirby lacks the hats of the Copy Abilities until Kirby Super Star. However, this has been fixed in Nightmare in Dreamland.
2. The controls in the NES original can be a little stiff at times, such as slightly delayed controls.
3. The game slows down every once in a while, but the slowdown was fixed in the 3D Classics rerelease on the 3DS.

Reception

Kirby's Adventure was met with positive reception, and is viewed as one of the best games on the NES. Many critics have considered the game to be an improvement over Kirby's Dream Land.
